Chakra Balancing

Chakra Balancing
Chakra: pronounce (Shock-ra) comes from the Sanskrit word “cakra” meaning wheel or turning and is sometime referred to as the “Wheel of Life.” In simple terms a charka is a spinning energy center. It’s been visually described a spinning lotus flower. The chakras run along what is known as the kunilini, or otherwise known as the energy of life. The kunilini starts at the base of the spine and runs down our body in the shape of a staff. It is the energy source for the chakras.

We have many energy points in our bodies, seven primary points (centers) and hundreds of secondary points, known as meridians. These meridians are used during acupuncture to balance Chi energy. The seven primary chakras are what we deal with when we balance our chakras. These chakras are the openings for life energy to flow in and out of our aura. They connect our spiritual body with our physical body. The seven main chakra centers are aligned with the spinal column from head to toe.

Humans have been aware of chakra energy points for about 5000 years. This spiritual awareness of chakras originated out of India where it is found in Hindu text and in many eastern beliefs and rituals. Balancing the chakras has been and still is an essential part of spiritual wellbeing for many eastern traditions.

The chakra is a life healing link between the physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies, so when a chakra is out of balance it can influence the whole self. Think of it this way, when your back is out-of line it affects your whole person. You physically feel achy and depending on how bad it is, you might not be able to move at all. This discomfort causes you to feel emotionally down and spiritually not attuned. You end going to the chiropractor for a “realignment” to bring you comfort. .Most people feel better after the appointment. This is basically the same thing with realigning your chakras.

A chakra emanates and draws in energy from several different vibrations levels, or energy fields including colors. Each of the 7 chakras is associated with a color that reflects the color of the light in a spectrum it is associated with. A practitioner who is attuned to the chakras can see these colors. They can identify when a chakra is out of balance. Most of the time, the chakras are off balance due to a blockage occurring in one of the chakras.

These blockages will cause a disturbance to that part of the body that receives this energy; this will again affects the entire body because your whole body is connected as one. For a practitioner the color can be perceived as dull when a blockage is present. In the token, if the chakra is not being given energy it can become weak. We can unknowingly do this when we are not taking care of our emotional, physical or spiritual needs. For example, if we are not speaking up to a loved one who is emotionally abusing us, our heart or throat chakra may become affected. Or if we have a throat infection it may cause our throat chakra to become weak

This is why learning about our chakras and how to balance them is so important. They are vital to our over all wellbeing. Chakras can become blocked through an emotional upset, such as conflict, loss, or accidents if not addressed in a healthy manner. Fear, anxiety and stress are common causes of chakra imbalance and weakness. When a block accumulates in the energy field, a disruption in the flow of energy through the Chakra can result. It is these blocks that disrupt the harmony in the field and eventually are the cause of disease in the physical body, as well as, emotional and mental disorders.

Think of balanced chakras as harmony within the body. This is what we should strive for when realigning our chakras, harmony within the self, the feeling of being whole. The function of the chakras as an energy center is to vitalize the physical, mental and emotional state of the spiritual self. When the chakras are open and strong they act as a healing centers to assist in the flowing and emanating of life force energy through out the physical, emotion and spiritual bodies.
