Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the practice of using natural plant oils extracted from flowers, leaves, roots and other parts of a plant to enhance over all well being.

Essential oils are the pure essence of a plant. They have been found to provide spiritual, psychological, and spiritual benefits. The inhaling of the aromas from these oils is believed to stimulate brain function, reduce stress, and relax the body.

Likewise, these oils can be absorbed through the skin and travel through the bloodstream and can create over-all body healing. This form of alternative healing is used in a variety of applications, including pain relief, mood enhancement and increases cognitive function.

There are alternative uses for the essential oils such as being used for household cleaning, insecticide and natural pesticides. For instance citronella candles are a popular use for keeping mosquitoes away. Lavender is used to calm the mind.

Another example of the diversity of aromatherapy is during a massage. In massage therapy, the massage oils can be supplemented with essential plant oils to help enhance the massage. The oils are supplemented based on the clients needs.

Aromatherapy is an excellent way to heal the mind, body and soul.
